Qualified as a chimney sweep through the National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) at the national training centre in Staffordshire. NACS registration offers peace of mind as in order to maintain membership we must be fully trained, insured and up to date with the latest developments regarding national and local regulations concerning all kinds of solid fuel appliances.
Having your chimney swept and inspected regularly should be a priority as a blocked or poorly ventilated chimney can lead to smoke flowing back into the room. Along with damage to walls and ceiling a far more dangerous component is present, Carbon Monoxide (CO2) which is a poisonous invisible gas that has no smell or taste. CO2 can kill if a person is exposed to high levels. Also, a build-up of soot poses a fire risk within the chimney.
